On weekday evenings there's a lot of activity on the Salmon Bay Bridge. Amtrak's Empire Builder heads north, and Sounder runs trains evey 1/2 hour. Add a freight train or two, and this can be a busy stretch of railroad, much to the dismay of boaters who want the bridge raised.

In this photo, a northbound freight passes, as a sailboat waits for the drawbridge to be opened so he can get to the locks.
