The Milky Way last night, viewed from the overlook above Diablo Lake on the North Cascades Highway. Still trying to learn how to properly edit these shots to get what I really want (the biggest problem is the noise), but this is perhaps my best effort yet. Taken about 11:45 in the evening with a Canon 5D Mk II and Rokinon 14mm f/2.8 lens. For reference, the portion of the Milky Way at the top of the image was in fact straight up above my head... A meteor is visible in the upper right... there were many to be seen last night, some very bright and spectacular!

Good shot. It is hard to realize how many stars there are until you get away from the lights of the metro area.

Really nice Rocky. Your subject doesn't seem to matter, you always get great results. You have a gift!
