This little towhee was much more obliging than most, and hopped up onto a branch so I was able to get a clear shot of him... Taken at the Willapa Hills trailhead in Chehalis this afternoon...

Thanks, Bill! These little guys are usually down in the litter under bushes, so it's nice to get one out in the open in good light!
 
What really sets these photos apart, imho, are the red twigs/branches that compliment the colors of the towhee. Very nicely done, Rocky!

Makes me want to get out and get some bird shots - its been awhile - too many irons in the fire~!!

Thanks, Terry! The background is a bit "busy" for my taste, but I do like the red twigs complementing the towhee's colors... and I couldn't resist when he just popped up there in the open as pretty as you please!
