From a visit to Nisqually a few days ago... found this little guy in a mixed flock of least and Western sandpipers feeding on the mudflats about halfway out along the boardwalk...

Great eye spotting this guy, Rocky, and very nice photo! I like the gray-brown and green tones - go nicely with the bird!

Tuesday I photographed some at the Edmonds marsh ............. from 200 yards. :(
I saw that, Bill.. well done seeing them from that far away! Apparently they're being seen more than usual this year... I was at Ocean Shores this afternoon, and got shots of a couple more!

They often travel in mixed flocks with westerns and leasts, but they really stand out due to their much larger size. Really cool that you could get such close shots.
