Bluebirds, Goldfinch and Flicker today at the state park. The Bluebird is fighting with his reflection in a camper window.

Good shots of the blue bird. We don't get them put here. The red chevron on the back of the flicker's neck indicated it is a red-shafted/yellow-shafted intergrade (sometimes incorrectly referred to as hybrid) bird.

As I passed the railroad yards in Council Bluffs I found this Hawk cooling off in good size puddle along the side of the road. He didn't stay long enough for me to zoom back out. But fun anyway

Starting to see some eagles again. These were taken at Lake Zorinsky. These are lakes that are made by damming the creeks that eventually flow into the Missouri River. Zorinsky is on the Boxelder Creek. We have had some above freezing days which gives the lakes some open water for eagles to do a little fishing.

Good shots. We up here in the PNW probably don't associate eagles with the Mid West, but I believe many of the northern eagles spend the winter there.

Any shots of cardinals in snow? I miss cardinals from my four years in Chicagoland.
