A year ago I discovered a pair of chickadees excavating an unlikely nesting hole. For the next two months I recorded their progress until the four young birds fledged. I can only attach five photos here but I believe you'll get the idea.

It was interesting to observe the persistence of the adults through a very rainy period, especially since the entry hole was in the top of a cherry tree stump and totally open to the elements.
