Probably my best shot to date of a canvasback. I've seen them here numerous times, but always so far away as to be useless for a photo. Today, a couple of them came closer, probably within 100 yards, and although I had to shoot between and "focus through" some twigs and branches, I managed a halfway decent shot of this handsome fellow... Be nice to get one closer, and not have to shoot through branches, but for now, I'm happy with this one!

I don't think I ever saw one up there either... heard they were around, usually up near Bellingham or the like, or over in eastern WA., but never saw one till I moved down here.
