Once you've been photographing eagles for a while, you start going after some of the more challenging photos. Typical ones include snagging a fish out of the water, mating in mid-air, and a fight with a talon lock. Usually fleeting, they're all tough to capture. Today I used my extreme skill (cough) Got lucky (cough) and captured a talon lock. Photographed near Seabeck, WA

Thanks, it does take a lot of work, and a lot of luck, to get shots like this. Now my goal is to get one even closer, so it's super sharp.
