I thought I would stop in and Introduce myself before I learn my way around the site. My name is Lori and I'm excited to find this site and that it's local! I'm pretty much a novice and been at it for a few years... I'm in a slight learning curve right now with my Nikon D300 which I just acquired a couple of weeks ago.

Hello Lori, my name is Kathy and I am the newbie who would like to go on the waterfall shoot in the Columbia Gorge. I too am from Oregon and I shoot with a Canon rebel xsi....18-55mm and 55-250mm my newest addition. I have been shooting for years with scheap cameras and/ or in auto mode with my 35mm nikon. I made the cross over to the digital world because well...you can fix stuff, and the never ending pictures you can take with memory cards...oh yeah did I mention just bought photoshop elements to fix stuff. I have completed 1 online class and currently enrolled in another. It has given me a basic understanding of how the camera works but I have questions taking that basic knowledge and using it to take good pictures. I think being with people who have more experience and enjoy photography will be a great help in getting me out of my never ending beginner learning curve. I mean really the higher the number the smaller the aperture?...just kidding!
