Spent a couple of hours the other day at a nearby park photographing a pair of red-breasted nuthatches as they harvested sunflower seeds to stash away for future consumption. They would pluck a seed from the sunflower, then fly off to one of several nearby trees, only to return a couple of minutes later to fetch another one. It was a rare treat to see them up close, and not on a feeder, so I took advantage of the opportunity and came away with over 150 "keeper" photos! Here are a few of my favorites...
