A friend and I took a trip south to the Columbia River this afternoon in search of sandhill cranes... we found them! Lifer bird for me... Gray, overcast light was not my friend, and none of these were closer than 100 yards, so these aren't as sharp as I'd really like, but perhaps next time... ;)

I saw a few at Ridgefield earlier this fall, but they were very far off. I don't know if they get any closer to the loop road as their numbers increase.
