Was fortunate to see not one, but TWO snowy plovers on the beach at Grayland this afternoon. Snowy plovers are critically endangered, with an estimated total of fewer than a hundred birds in the entire state, and only a couple of dozen in the Grayland area. This one was in a mixed flock of sandpipers and semi-palmated plovers, working its way down the beach and foraging in the sand...

Yes, a rare shot, Rocky. I have yet to photograph one. We attended the Grays Harbor Bird fest earlier this year and attempted to see them in their nesting area on the beach dunes of Graylands State Park. Tough place to raise chicks considering all the dogs and foot traffic that walk to the beach from the campgrounds.

Thanks, Terry! I was really tickled to be able to see two of them, and get decent photos as well! :)
