Thanks to an invite from FoamersNW I headed to the Columbia River Gorge for the second time in two weeks. The goal was to give some friends a tour through the waterfall area, see a few trains, and photograph interesting stuff.

At Wahkeena Falls the group moved all around capturing different views. Since it was a damp morning I chose to include moss and ferns in one of my photos of the creek.

Multnomah Falls has been photographed literally millions of times. No matter, it is such a beautiful place that it deserves the attention. I took several photos myself that repeat what many photographers have done in the past. In addition I tried a more intimate view of the crest of the lower falls.

We endured rain most of the day. As the afternoon wore on the rain turned to showers with the sun coming out occasionally. After we photographed Dog Creek falls I chose to leave the group and find a spot above Cooks to photograph a train. Just a few moments before this photograph was taken the clouds were dark and there was no sun. As the train approached the sun flowed through into the gorge.

Thanks FoamersNW for organizing this outing!

You have to love the Gorge. No matter how many times it is photographed with effort new POV's can be found. Nice shots.

I think you are right on there Janice. I've visited all of these spots before so I had to take a look around and find some other way to capture the essence of the area.
