February Photo Contest - Love

I had originally planned on making the theme for the February Photo contest "snow", but mother nature doesn't seem to be in the mood for a snowy winter. So...

In honor of Valentines Day, the theme for February is "Love"

Since I suspect that some of you may want to use wedding photos for this one, and it's hard to do a wedding shoot on the spur of the moment for a contest, I'm going to do something different this month.

Your photo does NOT have to be taken in February. You may use an image from your portfolio if you'd like. ("Portfolio" is just a fancy term for all of your photos... )


The contest is open to everyone. You must be a registered member of the forum to participate, however memberships are free, so anyone who's interested can easily sign up for one and submit their photo.

Each month's contest will have a theme. The themes will usually be intentionally vague, and part of the contest is to see how you interpret the theme.

Members can upload ONE image per contest. If you upload an image and then later decide you want to use a different photo, you are permitted to do that. Just let the mods know and we'll delete your old photo and let you upload a new one.

Of course you must be the photographer of the image you submit. You will retain the copyright to the image, as you do with any photos posted here.
Photos should be large, at least 800 x 600.

Once the contest is completed at the end of the month, a poll will be posted. All members will be eligible to vote in the poll, whether they have entered the contest or not. Voting will run for about a week.

In case of a tie, we'll either do a run-off vote, or have the moderators vote in a tie-breaker.

Only 3 photos so far? More than three of you must have shot romantic photos, right?!? Remember, the rules are that you CAN use any of your images for this one! (i.e. The shots do not have to be from February 2010, they can be older photos)

Are you telling me that with all the photographers we have here, nobody has ever shot a wedding? Come on, I know better than that! I know there could model release problems for some shots, but even photos of the rings or flowers or the church would work.
