Ichiro Suzuki

Ichiro Suzuki, or simply "Ichiro" to most of his fans, is one of the Seattle Mariners' best known and most admired players.

He has a devoted fan club, and he's one of the premier players in baseball. Recently a friend gave us tickets in "Area 51" right behind where he plays, so I was able to get a couple some fairly close shots.

You don't need a huge zoom lens, you need really good seats. Safeco Field rules say that they don't allow lenses over 200 mm. Exactly how much they enforce that I'm not sure, but I'm betting that if you showed up with a big lens you'd get unwanted attention.

This shot was at 200mm, with my relatively small kit lens. The real trick was scoring a friends season pass seats, which are on the rail in right field. You may have seen her on TV, she does the "Ichi-meter" sign, along with lots more.

It's Ichiro! Has to be a 10! :) Good shot Bob, seat or no seat. Same on other one. Specially with enforced limitations.
