Space Needle and Fireworks on July 4th

The (all too brief) fireworks show at the Space Needle is on New Years Eve. The July 4th celebrations are much longer, but they're not launched from the Space Needle, they're launched from nearby Lake Union. So, how to combine the longer show and the Seattle Landmark? Careful positioning on Alki.
