Last week Tuesday and Wednesday were the ideal days to shoot the moon rise. The moon was full or nearly full and rose just as the sun set providing some good light on the landscape. Or at least that was the plan. It seems mother nature had other ideas with the clouds and smoke. Still I made some interesting images and met up with another local photographer.

1. Moon Rise Over The Glenn Jackson. For those of you who know the area, what is missing from this photo?

2. Moon Rise Over Government Island

3. Vancouver Shipyards. This was killing time before the moon came up.

Enjoy!

Yeah, and last week's contest was supposed to be about the moon, thanks to a wonderful suggestion by Arline. Unfortunately the total idiot that runs the contests was too busy getting steam trains ready for some big event to actually post the contest info... D'oh!

Great shots, very nice!

Airplanes! ;)

Not sure how visible the Gorge usually is, can you typically see the hills in the background?

Airplanes are off to the right a bit so they don't appear. You are very close in regards to the hills. There's one hill in particular that I'm thinking of.

Nice shots indeed Steve!

Interesting on the same day Mt. Rainier disappeared off the face of the earth too!

I have a shot with a very blue looking sky and a big empty space where Mt. Rainier should be. It's an otherwise un-note worthy shot. Sure was a strange sky.
