Located in scenic Washington Park, not far from downtown Portland, the Oregon Zoo is a world class zoo with some very nice exhibits. While located in an urban area, the zoo is in densely wooded canyon that seems far away from the city.
I really enjoy photographing tigers, and the Oregon Zoo has two lovely Amur Tigers (formerly called Siberian tigers). Being cats, they'll often require lots of patience if you want a shot of them doing something besides napping, but the results can be worth the wait...

Bob, you knew this topic would draw me in. I love the Oregon Zoo! Nice collection of animals, reasonably humane accommodations and a beautiful setting for visitors.
