met up with Bill and his son Daren today to look for the barred owl at Pine Ridge. alas, the wretched bird failed to present itself, so after poking around in the trees for awhile, we decided to adjourn to Chase Lake. here's another look at "Scoop", the ringneck duck that's been hanging around there... taken a bit after Bill and Daren called it a day - got some real nice light, and Scoop was good enough to swim through a nice green-hued reflection on the pond and show off some colors of his own... 7D, 150-600 @ 500mm, 1/640 @ f/6.3

Outstanding, Rocky - you are right - the light was just right. Isn't that a great spot?

thanks, Terry... yeah, it's a neat little spot... from the boardwalk, with the late afternoon light like this, it's definitely got some nice opportunities!

Scoop pulled out his best colors full you.

he sure did! love the purple on his head, and even some nice olive green on his wings...
