the Fiesler Storch was a German observation and reconnaissance plane during WWII. Paul Allen (yes, THE Paul Allen) has a museum full of restored military aircraft from the 1930's and 1940's, most of them in flying condition. got some pics of this odd-looking little plane this afternoon... the thing can take off in about 150 feet if it has to, and land in just over half that... really amazing.
