What I learned about flyball.

My first time photographing flyball I learned a lot about the sport.

I found like any sport the team gets together and talks strategy.

Then the athletes warm up and get mentally prepared for the race.

Finally it's game time and the team members shout encouragement.

The athletes fly through the starting gate and the clock starts running.

For some style is important.

But it's really about hittin' that box hard to grab the ball.

And, people are part of the team . . . strong support for the athlete.

Spitballs are allowed.

To win, a quick turnaround is critical.

No matter what size, the athletes hurdle to the finish line.

It's a team sport, a relay, timing is everything.

Then the last dog of the team crosses the finish line.

Win or lose the prize is a good belly rub or maybe a yummy treat.

Oh yeah, I learned that next time I should bring ear plugs
