My first time photographing flyball I learned a lot about the sport.

I found like any sport the team gets together and talks strategy.

Then the athletes warm up and get mentally prepared for the race.

Finally it's game time and the team members shout encouragement.

The athletes fly through the starting gate and the clock starts running.

For some style is important.

But it's really about hittin' that box hard to grab the ball.

And, people are part of the team . . . strong support for the athlete.

Spitballs are allowed.

To win, a quick turnaround is critical.

No matter what size, the athletes hurdle to the finish line.

It's a team sport, a relay, timing is everything.

Then the last dog of the team crosses the finish line.

Win or lose the prize is a good belly rub or maybe a yummy treat.

Thanks for having me and sharing your camera and lenses. Even if my percentages stank.

It was fun to put this together. I'm glad you'll have me back :)

Maybe someday I'll have a chance to shoot a speeding cheetah on the plains of Africa :)

Nice work on the fast little guys. Tough light to get speed and action.

Thanks I went home and beat myself up for all the shots that weren't keepers. Maybe next time.

I wanted to share this video that I found to explain flyball to somebody who had never heard of it before. Nothing like seeing this explained by the Brits.
